WHO LIVES AT THE ZOO?

Age: Not sure.

Length: 16 feet

Weight: 95 pounds

Born: Not sure where. He came here in 1995 from the Detroit Zoo.

In the wild: Live in jungles in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.

Family: Mothers lay 30-50 eggs underground or in hollow trees and stay until they hatch.

Food: Pythons squeeze animals to death. In the wild, they eat rats up to antelopes. At the zoo, Jed eats a rabbit.

Fun fact: Jed only needs to eat once every eight to 10 months.
