  In the wild: Live in bamboo forests of Himalaya mountains on the Nepal-Tibet border.

  At the zoo: Central Zoo

  Family: Mothers have use hollow trees as dens to raise one to four cubs at a time. Babies stay with their mom for a year.

  Food: In the wild, bamboo, seeds, fruit and sometimes birds, bird eggs and bugs. At the zoo, animal apple biscuits, apples and grapes.

  Fun fact: Red pandas wash themselves with their tongue, just like a cat. They also like cool weather, so Junji has an air conditioner in his resting box.
